Catarina Robles Espinosa

Catarina Robles Espinosa, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on May 27, 2025, in Floresville, Texas, at the age of 99.  Born in Leming, Texas on April 30, 1926, to loving parents, Eduardo & Feliciana Robles, Catarina was a lifelong pillar of love, strength, and faith. A lifetime resident of Floresville, Texas, she was deeply rooted in her community and in her Catholic faith.  She was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she actively participated in the Guadalupanas and was a member of DeColores in her younger years.  Catarina found deep joy in her daily routine of saying her rosary and prayers.  She was also talented in many artistic facets of life.  She was gifted in sewing and creating beautiful things as well as singing and playing her accordion and harmonica for her grandchildren.  Catarina was truly a blessing to all who knew her.

Catarina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Santiago “Jimmy” Espinosa; her parents, Eduardo & Feliciana Robles; her daughters, Estella Ramirez and Mary Espinosa; her son-in-laws, George Pearls and Fred Rangel; and her siblings, Shella Garcia, Maggie Montoya, Juana Garcia, Amada Rodriguez, Fidela Lopez, Luisa Garcia, Mingo Robles, Jose Robles, and Susie Barbosa.

She is survived by her children, Olivia Pearls, Oralia Rangel, Richard Espinosa, Jimmy Espinosa Jr. (Linda), John Espinosa (Yunila), Sylvia Trevino (Rudy), Ann Ortiz (David), Yolanda Miranda (Juan), Jesse Espinosa (Liseth), and David Espinosa; her son-in-law, Arnold Ramirez; and her sister Ernastina Flores.  She will also be forever cherished by her grandchildren, Jimmy Espinosa III, David Ortiz, Marcus Ortiz, Rudy Trevino III, Ryan Trevino, Desiree Almarez, Patrick Ramirez, Kathy Ramirez, Lauren Mendez, John Miranda, Jennifer Meyer, Lorian Villalobos, Jonathan Espinosa, Christian Espinosa, Jesse Espinosa Jr, Jacob Espinosa, Joshua Espinosa, Joseph Espinosa, Frederick Rangel, Derek Rangel, Lupe Espinosa, Sandra Espinosa, Debra Garcia, and Christina Davis,  and numerous great-grandchildren.  Catarina was a guiding light, not only to her family but also to the many friends and neighbors whose lives she touched with her generosity and warmth, including numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 am on June 9, 2025 and a rosary will be recited at 10:30 am.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am and interment will directly follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Leming, Texas.  Pallbearers are: Ryan Trevino, Patrick Ramirez, Jonathan Espinosa, Joshua Espinosa, Christian Espinosa, and Jacob Espinosa.  Honorary Pallbearer is Ruben Garcia.
