Carlos Bernard Matthews

Mr. Carlos Bernard Matthews went into the loving arms of the Lord on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 66 years old.  He was born to loving parents, Hilry and Theda Matthews in Floresville, Texas on August 2, 1956.  Carlos was a proud lifetime resident of Floresville, Texas, where he was born and raised.

Carlos was preceded in death by his father, Hilry Matthews, and his brother, Lonnie E. Matthews.  He was survived by his mother, Theda Matthews, and his beloved children, Tristan Matthews and Brandy Matthews.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, James Westman Jr, Breann Villarreal, Darenae Payne, LeeAijah Grant, and Devron Blackwell.  He will also be dearly missed by his siblings, Kenneth L. Matthews and wife, Angie, and Darryl Matthews and wife Nina.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Franklin Funeral Home at 9:00 am.  A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am and interment will directly follow at Greater Bethel Missionary Baptist Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jackie Price, Edward Cordova, Gilbert Rodriguez, Steve Guerrero, Bernardo Rodriguez, and Jack Dunn. Honorary Pallbearers include Daryl Kenny, Harold Warren, Antoindo Grissett, and James Westman Jr.
