Carl Chatman Sr.

Carl Gene Chatman Sr. went into the loving arms of the Lord on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the age of 79 years.  He was born on April 14, 1943 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mary Lou and Nathan Chatman.  Carl was a proud member of the United States Air Force and belonged to his local VFW Chapter.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Lou Ginn Chatman and Nathan B. Chatman as well as his first wife, Wanda J. Houston Chatman, and his second wife, Janice L. Evans Chatman.  He was also preceded in death by his children Nathan W. Chatman and La’ Tonya S. Chatman as well as his sister, Karen L. Jackson.  He is survived by his children, Carla L. Chatman of Fort Worth, Texas and Carl G. Chatman Jr and his wife Diane Chatman of San Antonio, Texas.  He is also survived by his grandchild Travis J. Bruton of Texas, his great-grandchild, Jason T. Bruton of Tennessee, his sisters, Veranda D. Tillman and Doris L. May of Missouri, his sister-in-law, Lilian F. Thompson of Kansas, and his aunt, Ruth M. May of Missouri.  He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and host of friends.  A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 10:00 am in the Franklin Funeral Home Chapel.  The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am and internment will directly follow at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery.
