Boyd O’Neal Shelton passed into his eternal rest on April 8, 2026 in Floresville, Texas at the age of 62. He was born on September 19, 1963 in Gonzales, Texas to Cleveland and Louise Shelton.
Boyd was a man who believed in working hard and taking care of those he loved. He was the kind of man who went out and hustled for what he wanted, never afraid of hard work or long days in the oilfield. At home, he enjoyed being outdoors, whether working on precious lawnmowers, spending time in the yard, or tinkering on his truck.
More than anything, Boyd loved his family. He married the love of his life, his forever ride or die, Pauline Shelton in 2021. She was a self-proclaimed “husband’s girl,” something she would never trade for anything. And though their time together was not always easy, it was meaningful, and she remained grateful for every moment they shared. Boyd also loved his stepchildren deeply and took pride in the life they built together. His beloved dogs, Blue and Maxx, were always by his side and meant a great deal to him.
Boyd was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Louise Shelton. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pauline Shelton. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Abigail Williams and Farin Martinez Jr. He leaves behind his siblings; Sharon Perry, Cleveland Shelton III (Penny), Carl Shelton, Rose Heitkamp (Leroy), and Carroll Wayne Shelton. Boyd is also survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Guerra. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Bonnie Fulton (Daunte), Justin Perry (Amber), Megan Alvarez (Jose), Jasmine Williams, Frank Gay Jr, Preston Grobe ,and Jaxson Todd. He also leaves behind a step grandson Farin Martinez III and numerous great nieces and nephews along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held at Franklin Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A second visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 beginning at 9:00 am, with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:00 am. Interment will directly follow at Stockdale City Cemetery.
