Bobby Shaw

Bobby Shaw passed away peacefully in his Stockdale, Texas home on September 7, 2024 at the age of 90 years old.   He was born to loving parents, Lois & Robert Shaw in Denhawken, Texas on December 27, 1933.  Bobby could be best described as a jack of all trades.  From farming to building computers, there was nothing that he couldn’t do and he did it all with great pride and joy.  He was also a proud Veteran of the United States Army, where he served during Vietnam and Korea.  Because of his work in the Army, he spent time in Utah, Oklahoma, and Germany, but Stockdale, Texas was and always will be his home.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert Franklin Shaw; his mother, Lois Ellison Shaw; his son, Bobby Edward “Eddie” Shaw Jr; his brothers, Robert Franklin Shaw Jr, Carroll Shaw, and Floyd “Cutie” Shaw; and his sister, Hazel Haney.  Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Shirley Shaw; his children, Robert Shaw, Arthur Shaw, and Anna Gilley; and his brother, Donald Ray Shaw.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Loree Gilley, Alicia Grant, Eric Gilley, Shawn Shaw, Chad Shaw, La Gina Garcia, Andrew James “AJ” Shaw, and Alyssa Shaw.  Bobby will be forever cherished by his great-grandchildren, Joseph Garcia, Jessica Rogers, Skylar Shaw, Lacey Rogers, Anslee Shaw, Phillip Garcia, Selene Garcia, Ellie Shaw, and Ryder Shaw.  Bobby left a beautiful legacy on this world and will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

A visitation will be held at 9:00 am on September 13, 2024 at Franklin Funeral Home and the service will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will directly follow at Stockdale City Cemetery.
