Reverend Allen “Roddy” Rodgers passed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on March 28, 2026, at the age of 82 years old. He was born in Henderson, Texas to parents, Reverend R.E. Rodgers and Genetta Deason Rodgers, on May 5, 1943. Roddy was a longtime, beloved pastor in Texas, most notably at Landmark Baptist Church in Floresville, Texas, where he faithfully served his congregation and community for more than 35 years. As a man of strong Faith, he dedicated his life to the Lord and found great joy in visiting with fellow preachers and sharing in ministry.

Roddy was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished his family and the time they spent together. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and had a passion for sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys, as well as classic cars, his sweets, and sharing laughter and jokes with those around him. He leaves behind a legacy shaped by his unwavering Faith and the love he poured into both his family and his church.

Roddy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Vickie Rodgers; his parents, Reverend R.E. Rodgers and Genetta Deason Rodgers; and his siblings, Inez Campbell, Geraldine Riddle, Imogene Smith, and Buddy Rodgers. He is survived by his loving children, Scott Rodgers (Pam) and Keith Rodgers (Lorelei). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Kimberly Rodgers, Kirsten Rodgers, Katherine Rodgers, Kyrie Rodgers, Christopher Rodgers, Kaleb Rodgers, and Luke Rodgers, as well as his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Terry Utley (Dennis) and Thomas Truett (Brenda Jo). Roddy will be greatly missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and all who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Franklin Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm at Franklin Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Floresville City Cemetery.
