Alicia “Molly” Chavarria passed into the loving arms of the Lord on October 25, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 86. She was born on February 25, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas.
Molly was a beautiful soul whose warmth, kindness, and love touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a beaming smile, a wonderfully sarcastic wit, and a special way of making everyone around her feel seen and loved. She shared her love freely and fiercely, and her genuine care for others was evident in everything she did. Molly was a woman of deep Catholic faith and was actively involved in the Guadalupanas, ACTS, Marriage Encounter, Catholic Daughters, and RCIA. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she lived it through the love and kindness she extended to others.
Above all, Molly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family beyond measure. She shared nearly 64 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Doroteo “Deacon Tito” Chavarria. Though her family will miss her dearly, they find comfort in knowing that Molly and Tito are together once again. Her beautiful smile, quick wit, and the love she gave so freely will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
Molly is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doroteo “Deacon Tito” Chavarria; son, David Victor Chavarria; parents, Josephine and Joe Trevino; brother, Roberto Piña; and sister-in-law, Rosemary “Rosie” Piña.
She is survived by her loving children, Daniel Robert Chavarria (Becky), Dennis Paul Chavarria (Mimi), and Doroteo Jesus Chavarria. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Kristyn Juarez (Greg), David Chavarria (Felicia), Alexander Chavarria, Nicolas Chavarria, Giancarlo Chavarria, Daniel Chavarria, Dylan Chavarria, Danielle Chavarria, and Derek Chavarria; and great-grandchildren, Valentina Chavarria, Francesca Chavarria, and Liliana Chavarria. Molly will also be lovingly remembered by her brother, Rosendo “Ross” Piña (Tricia); sister-in-law, Altagracia “Lala” Martinez; daughter-in-law, Sandy Weser; and her nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at Franklin Funeral Home in Floresville, Texas, beginning at 5:00 pm, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, where Molly will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
