Obituary

Albert Lee Castro, Sr., passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 61. He was born in Floresville, Texas, on May 10, 1965, to Elia and Eligio Castro.

A lifelong resident of Floresville, Albert was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was well known throughout the community. He especially enjoyed spending time at his brother's bar, Castro's, where he was always happy to lend a hand and visit with friends. Earlier in life, Albert also helped his grandfather deliver newspapers throughout Floresville. Above all, Albert cherished time with his family. He loved his children dearly and was especially proud of his grandsons, who brought him immense joy. Albert was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family, and he will be forever cherished by all who knew and loved him.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Elia and Eligio Castro; and his grandparents, David and Beatrice Ximenez and Frank and Elisa Castro. He is survived by his loving children, Albert Lee Castro, Jr., Chloe Renae Padilla, and Alex Padilla. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Christian Lee Perez and Samuel Angel Longoria. Albert is also survived by his siblings, Roland Castro (Susie), Arthur James Castro (Rachel), Ruben Castro (Adelfa), Jo Cheryl Castro (Hector), Eligio Castro, Jr. (Argentina), and Irma Marie Castro; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Interment will directly follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
